DRAWING A DAY
Illustration Style and Exploration

I challenged myself to create and share a drawing a day for a three-week period.
I feel happiest when illustrating, but there are moments when picking up the pen and being creative feels impossible. This was an exercise in working through and resetting my expectations of making art. Through this iteration of what I fondly dub, The Gals, I explore my creative process and practice with textures and color.

DAY 23 - Fancy
The Gals actually started from a single lady, sketched out one Holiday break. I saw this little whale in a fancy little hat and dress in the pattern of a quilt and simply could not get over it. I realized later that the whole thing was actually upside down but by then she was stuck in my mind.
